When and how do we begin to change our lives for the better? Well, the time is now!!! Make a conscious effort to know better and do better. Whether it is doing better with food or doing better with time, make small steps now and it will soon become a hobby.
Challenge yourself every day, set goals every day. If it helps, write down your daily goals, those small steps and it will become natural.
My example: In 2022, I decided to stop eating meat and poultry. I was not advised by a doctor, I made the decision myself to live a healthier life afterall, you are what you eat. I wanted to cut meat out all together and cut down drastically on poultry. The year started well, with no meat and eating chicken and turkey probably twice by March 2022. As the year went on, I gradually cut out all meat and poultry and stuck to fish only. In July 2022, I made it my goal to remain pescatarian until the end of the year. I also have a vegan day once per week and vegetarian days twice a week.
When you empower yourself, you empower someone else. When you tell your story, trust me someone is listening especially if your story resonates with them. If you want to be empowered to make a change, small or big, write it down, talk to someone, watch a video or read a book on the topic. By doing this, it helps to motivate and empower you to take the next steps.
My example: Getting my stand up banner completed. I made a start on my banner a few times in the past but never completed the project as ‘other things’ came up. Just recently an event I was planning was postponed by 4 weeks, which I believe was a blessing from God giving me more time to work on my brand. So instead of procrastinating, I spoke to a friend, she gave me a number to call and within 24 hours, I had all my information gathered, made an appointment with the branding strategist and my banner was completed within a week.
Sometimes, we need that neutral person to help us put a fresh perspective on life. We have personal challenges, we are all trying to balance work and life, and we are trying to navigate the next step and pivot where and when necessary. How do you execute on your goals? You do that in 3 main ways: Perseverance, Encouragement and Determination, the PED approach.
My example: As a REALTOR, I have always been fascinated with property, property management and all things related to real estate. One of my goals, is to purchase an Airbnb in Atlanta or surrounding counties. This meant that I had to put aside some money to be in a strong position to bid on a property and be ready when the right one comes up. My goal is to have the property within the next 12 months. So far, I am on track to achieve that goal. I am determined, I am encouraged and the Airbnb will be part of my retirement plan, the WHY.
